TauroLock™ dramatically reduces the rate of catheter related blood stream infections (CRBSI). Prophylactic use of Taurolock can reduce intraluminal catheter infections by more than 90%.

Controlled studies with hemodialysis and oncology catheters have demonstrated that Taurolock is an effective alternative to the controversially discussed antibiotic lock solutions. The development of microbial resistance is not expected due to the unique molecular mechanism of action. Taurolock is highly efficient in eradicating bacteria and fungi which can both be found as free floating species and in biofilms.
